Radar and Sonar
The Second World War is remembered as being one of the most destructive and largest scale wars the modern world has ever seen. While the tragedies of the war will likely not be forgotten, technological advancements made and used during the war paved the way for many innovations in the modern world. Despite the significance of these advancements, their historical significance to younger generations makes them seem irrelevant in comparison to today’s technology. The reality is that many important technologies that people depend on today resulted from innovations and technological advancements that were created during WWII.
My goal was to create a piece that was both captivating and educational. Using the idea of an exhibit at a science museum, I created a piece targeting families with young children who want to learn about technology and WWII. The animation introduces two major technological innovations from the time period and invites the viewer to learn more by visiting the exhibit.
